Due to the high likelihood of heavy rain and thunderstorms this evening, we have opted to cancel the Spooky Walk with the Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust scheduled for 5:30 PM tonight at the Headwaters Conservation Area.

On Friday, October 21, 2015 starting at 5:30 pm, Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust (DNRT) and Westport Land Conservation Trust (WLCT) invite you to join them on an eerie family adventure (suggested ages 8 and up) at Westport Land Conservation Trust’s Headwaters Conservation Area at 187 Blossom Road in Westport.  Walk through the dark woods with a guide to a site where David Mello, locally renowned storyteller, will tell some ghost stories around a fire.

The walk will begin at the Headwaters Conservation Area located at 187 Blossom Road in Westport and lasts approximately 2 hours. From the intersection of Routes 88 and 6, take Route 6 east for 0.6 miles to Davis Road. Turn left on Davis Road and proceed 1.2 miles to Old Bedford Road. Turn left onto Old Bedford Road and proceed 0.6 miles to Blossom Road. Turn right on Blossom Road and proceed 0.7 miles to the Headwaters Conservation Area. Costumes are welcome, but not necessary. Light refreshments will be served and wear clothing that won’t get caught underfoot or on branches during the walk. Bring your flashlights and dress warmly as we will be walking back to the parking lot in the dark.  There may even be a few “ghostly” surprises along the trail!

The event is free. Registration is required for the Spooky Walk and you can register online at WestportLandTrust.org.

If the weather is questionable, call the Westport Land Conservation Trust at 508.636.9228 or check www.wlct3.wpengine.com prior to the walk for cancellation information. For further information call the Westport Land Conservation Trust at 508.636.9228.
