Tina Schmid is co-vice chair of the land trust’s Board of Directors and owner of River Rock Farm in Westport. Her leadership and vision guide WLCT’s current efforts to preserve the rural character and agricultural heritage of Westport.
Why did you get involved with WLCT?
I got involved with WLCT because I would like to do what I can to keep Westport a working agricultural community.
What are you most thankful for this year?
I am most thankful for Bishop de Cunha’s help in allowing us to preserve the St. Vincent de Paul property as a community park. And I have much appreciation for over 160 families and the Town of Westport, who made this project a reality.
