Looking for a reason to get outside in the New Year?

In January, Westport Woods will be the setting for a storywalk of Lynne Samson’s timely tale Once Upon a Pine Tree. With a central setting of a winter wonderland, this picture book describes the life cycle of a pine tree–much like the type that might be in your home right now for the holidays.

A storywalk unfolds the pages of a picture book as readers walk along a path.

Once Upon a Pine Tree takes 14 stops through the Children’s Discovery Garden and along our All-Persons Trail. As you follow the Trail and the story, all of your senses participate!

Once Upon a Pine Tree is written by Westport resident Lynne Samson, with illustrations by Sandra Hall, another Westport resident.

Lynne has generously contributed copies of her book to the Westport Land Conservation Trust! Visitors to the Learning Center can check in to take home a copy of this book and experience its educational and engaging story again and again.
