Gary Hall joined the Tuesday Trail Team shortly after he and his wife Cathy moved to Westport. In a happy coincidence, Gary’s professional experience dovetailed nicely with Trail Team’s 2025 focus on bridge building.

Of Gary’s volunteering with Land Steward Nate McCullin say, “Gary’s attention to detail, hard work and clear communication have contributed immensely to our work. His skills have proven to be crucial in tackling some of our biggest carpentry projects to date, notably the new bridges at Herb Hadfield Conservation Area.”

Gary’s professional career was in bridge design, construction, and inspection. Projects varied from simple pedestrian bridges to large highway structures. You can see Gary’s work in our new, extended bridging at Herb Hadfield.

What is your Favorite Property?

Westport Woods, with its network of trails.

I’m looking forward to this winter and developing trails on the new North extension and connecting them to the trails we built in 2024.

Why Do You Volunteer with WLCT?

I’ve always appreciated the work that goes into creating trails. Tuesday Trail Team made it easy to maintain Westport’s trails while working with other Trail Team members.
