Eyes on Owls: A Live-Streamed Owl Show!

Have you ever seen an owl up close? Or perhaps heard a hoot in the distance on a crisp fall night? Owls are stealthy, elusive, and nocturnal birds, which makes a natural siting very rare.

Join us on Saturday, March 12th at 3pm the Westport Land Conservation Trust (WLCT) is bringing back the Eyes on Owls show for the community to enjoy. The program will be hosted live via the Zoom platform and will introduce six different owls that can be found throughout New England. Viewers of the program are in for a hooting lesson and then several close-up views of these secretive birds of prey.

Naturalists Mark and Marcia Wilson will present the live owls one at a time with each owl perched securely on their gloved hand. The owls presented have permanent disabilities which prevent them from surviving on their own in the wild. These non-releasable owls are captivating ambassadors from the natural world. The Wilson’s will share the importance of preserving wild spaces for wildlife and for people.  Questions are taken once the owls come out, and the show runs 60 – 75 minutes.
