Early April brought visitors to the WLCT workshop–bird box builders!
Led by Board Member and Trail Team Volunteer Steve McGuiness, and assisted by Board and Land Connections Committee member Valerie Bassett, caregivers and parents, a lively group of carpenters built individual bird boxes to take home and install.
Our builders followed “one board” plans from Cornell. Community Connections Coordinator, and longtime birder, Aaron Teixeira included information on the Why, Where, and How of bird box placement. You can find more about nest boxes at Cornell’s NestWatch.
We were thrilled to host this intergenerational event and look forward to doing it again!
