The trend is real. More and more hikers, fishermen, photographers and friends join us in exploring the outdoors each year. Here’s a look back at a years worth of outdoor adventures and a sneak peak of what’s in store for 2018! Rest assured, we’ll be bringing back our Annual Owl Show, Sea Kayaking Adventure Series, Town Farm Summer Concert and much, much more!
In 2017 we directly engaged more than 1,200 people in over 25 programs that encouraged environmental stewardship and exploration all across the Town of Westport. Delivering these, primarily free, public programs is a key part of WLCT’s charitable mission. It is our hope that by connecting the broader Westport community to their public lands and natural resources, we will foster a sense of preservation and build our communities readiness to act on behalf of the land, water and wildlife of Westport.
There is a lot to look forward to in 2018. We’ve already begun planning our annual Super Bowl Walk on February 4th; we have high hopes of bringing back the acclaimed “Wild Foods of Westport” walk at the Town Farm; and there are a few NEW programs we can’t wait to announce!
