Science in the Garden: Seeds That Come and Go

Seeds can travel in a variety of ways, be it by wind and water, or being carried along by an animal. Plants rely on these novel ways to propagate and spread through meadows, forests and fields.

We’ll take a closer look at how plants make their way through the world, and what the most prominent forms of seed dispersal in the Kirby House garden at Westport Woods. Come and spend an afternoon with us as we examine the travel plans of our plants.
