The Super Bowl Walk
On Super Bowl Sunday, February 2, 2020, starting at 11:00 AM sharp, the Westport Land Conservation Trust (WLCT) and the Trustees are pleased to present The Super Bowl Walk, a hike that extends from the Slocums River in Dartmouth to the east branch of the Westport River in Westport.
Conservation efforts in the area make this 6+ mile hike possible. This is your chance to experience sections of trail not normally open to the public–and get a little fresh air before watching the big game! For a special treat, Westport Rivers Winery will be opening its doors to greet hikers at the end of the walk with discounted wine and beer by the glass for $7 and 20% off all take home wine for hikers, whether it is one bottle or many.
The walk will begin at 11 AM at the Slocums River Reserve parking lot across from Sylvan Nursery (253 Horseneck Road, Dartmouth), about 1.4 miles south of Russells Mills Village. Thanks to Whaling City Transit, transportation will be provided from the winery back to your car with plenty of time to get home to watch the big game. Please be advised that this is a challenge by choice event. Trails may be icy, snow covered, or muddy. Proper footwear is required and no dogs are allowed on the walk. No restrooms are available at the start line.
Registration is required for the Super Bowl Walk with a firm limit of 150 participants and a suggested donation of $10 per person for the walk. To register, please visit: www.Eventbrite.com/The-Super-Bowl-Walk/.
If the weather is questionable, check www.WestportLandTrust.org prior to the walk for cancellation information.
