Through the Seasons: Autumn Walk
We are thrilled to return to Dunham’s Brook Conservation Area on our series of explorations at this unique property. Each entry of this walk invites enquiry of seasonal changes over the course of a year.
Our Summer walk saw the warm season grasses of our meadow in full summer spread. Wildlife, though quiet, was fairly active, with many a bird crossing our path. Now, as we begin the swing through Autumn towards Winter dormancy, we will start to pick up some of the birds migrating away as the nights get cooler, wildlife preparing for hibernation, as some of the grasses begin to go to seed, and the oak-holly forests will start to see some of the leaves begin their autumn changes.
As always, this is a great opportunity to notice that changes that take place over large protected properties in our South Coast community!
