Town Farm Summer Concert with Richard Shindell
Save the date! On Saturday, August 3rd Westport Land Conservation Trust (WLCT) are pleased to present the 12th annual Town Farm Summer Concert. The goal of the concert is to get Westport residents and non-residents outside and on the land at Westport Town Farm (830 Drift Road) to support the work of the Westport Land Conservation Trust; a not for profit corporation that has worked since 1972 to acquire and preserve natural resources, farmland, and wildlife areas in Westport for the use and enjoyment of future generations.
This summer, WLCT is thrilled to present critically acclaimed artist Richard Shindell. Originally from New York, now dividing his time between Buenos Aires, Argentina and New York’s Hudson Valley, Richard Shindell is a writer whose songs paint pictures, tell stories, juxtapose ideas and images, inhabit characters, vividly evoking entire worlds along the way and expanding our sense of just what it is a song may be. From his first record, Sparrow’s Point (1992) to his current release, Careless (September 2016), Shindell has explored the possibilities offered by this most elastic and variable of cultural confections: the song.
The outdoor concert starts at 5:30 pm. Make sure to arrive early for good seating and don’t forget a lawn chair or picnic blanket! Tickets are $20 per person and will be sold at the doors beginning at 5 pm at Westport Town Farm (830 Drift Road) on the day of the concert. Children 12 and under may attend for free. A limited number of non-refundable, pre-sale tickets are available for purchase online at: EVENTBRITE.COM
This concert is supported, in part, by the Westport Cultural Council through a grant from the Helen E. Ellis Charitable Trust administered by Bank of America.
