Winter Solstice Walk
Join WLCT staff days before the Winter Solstice to walk the trails at Westport Woods Conservation Area on December 19th. The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year and marks the exact moment when half of Earth is tilted the farthest away from the sun. The Solstice signifies how life on Earth changes in connection to the Sun and how our seasons shape our world. We will discuss how plants and animals change their habits and defense mechanisms during the cold winter months.
Please wear warm clothes and hiking boots. We will provide hot apple cider to keep warm during the walk.
