Mill Pond Conservation Area

Mill Pond Conservation Area provides a unique experience among our Destination Properties.

Acquired in 2007, a community fruit orchard adjacent to the parking lot was established by volunteers in 2015. When these trees mature, they will provide free picking of apples, peaches, pears, plums and other fruit to MPCA users. A trail of firm, crushed-rock winds through the orchard, providing a beautiful outdoor environment that is handicapped-accessible and provides easily an outdoor meeting site for community groups. An additional trail summits the small ridge behind the meadow, and then drops down to the beautiful shoreline of Noquochoke River and the remains of the old mill dam for which this preserve is named. Creation of Mill Pond Conservation Area was made possible by a land gift from Mrs. Dorothy Sang.
