Headed for Another Great Year in 2024
2024 brings a focus on high-quality experiences on the land through public programming and educational opportunities in our land connection program. Be on the lookout for a slate of new events and reoccurring popular events, like February’s Super Bowl Walk and the Owl Show (March 23rd)!
Our stewardship program will be focused on the continued growth of our public access properties. We’ll be highlighting our properties throughout the year and blazing new trails for you to explore. As you read this, the plan for expansion of our trails at Westport Woods is being completed and “ground-breaking” will begin this month.
We are also celebrating 10 years of the Tuesday Trail Team (TTT@10). Our dedicated service volunteers descend upon various properties each Tuesday and provide thousands of hours of work each year. WLCT will be celebrating TTT’s incredible decade of impact throughout 2024!
We continue to place strategic emphasis on land preservation projects that preserve prime habitat, farmland, and forestland with a focus on value for our community. This year we anticipate projects that will help expand these efforts and provide more trails for everyone to explore in the future.
