Land preservation is the work of perpetuity. WLCT is ensuring future conservationists will preserve and care for Westport’s unique landscapes through our programs that connect people to the land. 

Building relationships between WLCT and the community is at the core of our programming.

WLCT seeks to connect more people, including a more diverse range of people to the land, through our communications, innovative programs and events, interactive spaces, and the expansion of access to properties. 

Land connection focuses on these key elements:

  • Engaging more people through free- and low-cost public programs 
  • Growing a broader audience by working with partners from a variety of organizations, including Westport Community Schools and Westport Town Recreation
  • Ensuring safe and well-maintained trails at our 11 public access properties, which highlight a wide variety of Westport’s landscapes 
  • Drawing the connection between enjoyment of the outdoors and the work of conservation for passive recreation visitors
