1013 American Legion Highway • 9 acres • 0.23 miles of trails

Brookside Conservation Area provides scenic access for walkers and fisherman to the banks of Bread and Cheese Brook. Downstream from the parking lot is a stunning granite bridge that was one of the original brook crossings used by farmers and mill workers. Visitors to the property immediately enjoy the serenity and beauty of the flowing water of Bread and Cheese Brook as it winds toward the East Branch of the Westport River. The area was acquired in two parcels including a generous gift from the Ferry Family. Protection of this area was made possible by funding from The Trustees, the Westport Community Preservation Fund, the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Wildlife, and private donors.

Note: access may be limited during spring melting and flooding events.
